Year 5 and 6 PSHE - Knife Crime Workshop
This week, Year 5 and 6 welcomed a PCSO (Police Community Support Officer) to our PSHE lesson for a crucial talk on the dangers of knife crime. Students engaged actively, learning essential strategies for personal safety and understanding the legal and ethical reality: there is never a justified reason to carry a knife. The officer also provided vital guidance on critically evaluating social media content that may pose risks. Following the session, the children created clear and impactful information posters to educate the wider school community about the dangers they had learned.
Online Safety - Tracking Devices
Tracking devices were designed to help people find lost belongings, but they’ve also opened the door to worrying forms of misuse. Year 6: Geography - Population
This week year 6 have been learning about how birth and death rates can affect the population of an area. They analysed data shown on a graph for two countries, and thought about other reasons for how and why the population may fluctuate.
Year 6: R.E. - Advent
This week Year 6 have started our advent unit of work. We looked at the significance of the advent period for the Christian faith, and learnt about what each element of an advent wreath represents.
Year 6: P.E - Dodgeball
This half term year 6 are working on the skills and tactics needed to improve their dodgeball performance. We are focussing on playing small team games, with an emphasis on accurate throwing towards a moving target. L.O: To hit a moving target.
Year 6: English - Analysing a Classic Text
In English lessons, we have been analysing the language features and grammatical techniques used in an extract of our classic text 'The Wizard of Oz'.
Year 6: Maths - Fractions

In Geography year 6 have started their unit learning about population. This week we learnt about population density, and looked at different countries around the world and their population density. L.O: To understand population density.
Year 6: PSHE - Healthy lifestyle talk
On Monday, Year 6 were lucky enough to have a talk from a visitor learning about how to improve their lifestyles, with a focus on creating healthy habits, and how to make the right choices around food.
Year 6: Art - Packaging Designs
In Art, Year 6 have been completing their research and designs before making their own packaging for a food product.
