Year 4 English - Role play to aid understanding
Year 4 have been using their vehicle text, 'The Whale' by Vita and Ethan Murrow in their English lessons and have explored lots of aspects that the book has delved into. What better way to identify with our characters, than to be them and put ourselves in their shoes? It was quite fun acting (as well as watching!) and we should hopefully be able to put our emotions and experiences into our upcoming writing tasks.
Reception - PSHE - What makes me special?
This week in PSHE, Reception have been looking at what makes us special. We've talked about our skin colour, our hair colour, our family and the things we like to do. We read the story, 'We Are All Different' to help us understand. The children were then encouraged to bring in something from home or share a picture of something that they like to do, or something that is special to them. We shared them in class and talked about what they are.
Reception - PE - Moving around space safely
Reception have had so much fun starting their PE lessons in the hall. Today we were learning how to move around the space safely, making sure we didn't bump into anyone else or any objects around the room. The children finished with a Pirate game listening carefully to instructions to walk the plank, scrub the deck and say 'Aye aye Captain'.
