Our Reception children had a brilliant time exploring natural processes in science as they held ice cubes, observed them melting, and discussed why this was happening. To put their ideas into action, they worked together to unfreeze a block of ice filled with autumn treasures, suggesting clever methods such as leaving it in the sun or pouring warm water over it.

Afterwards, we put some of the water back in the freezer to see what would happen to it.
